A road rage incident, a violent knife attack, and a reopened appeal regarding a cold case are just a few of the instances in Bristol that police require assistance with. Every day, a great deal of crimes in Bristol are looked into, but occasionally it’s difficult to find witnesses.
Police frequently locate CCTV footage of individuals in the vicinity of the incident. As a result, they can now make the photos public in the hopes that someone would be able to identify the photos and provide information that could aid in the investigation.
In relation to many alleged incidents in the region, Avon and Somerset Police recently exchanged information and images. Since then, a few appeals have been withdrawn after participants in the The public assisted in identifying them, yet several are still active on the force’s appeals list.

11 people were detained on suspicion of trying to kill someone after a knife incident that left two men hospitalised. The alleged incident happened on Sunday, June 9, at approximately 4.40 a.m., close to Rawnsley Park in Easton.
With knife wounds, two guys in their 20s were brought to the hospital; one of them was reportedly in critical condition. It was believed that neither man’s wounds were life-threatening.
All have been freed on conditional bail while more investigation is conducted. “The recent incidents in Stapleton Road and the surrounding area in the past few months has had a significant impact on the local community,” Ch Insp Hayward-Melen continued.
“We are ensuring that the Easton neighbourhood police team is readily visible and accessible so that neighbours can come to them with any issues they may have.
Knife crime has no place in our communities or on our streets. As police, we’re determined to stop this at all costs. We’ll conduct knife sweeps, work with intelligence teams to identify the most dangerous individuals in our neighbourhoods, and engage with the public to raise awareness of the risks.

On the 40th anniversary of Bristol resident Shelley Morgan’s disappearance, authorities issued a fresh request for information regarding certain objects they think could have been taken by her murderer.
The mother of two sadly vanished on June 11, 1984, and her body was found in woodland close to the North Somerset village of Backwell, following a four-month missing persons investigation.
On this day forty years after the 33-year-old vanished, authorities are reiterating their call for information regarding her whereabouts and urging those in the city who may have knowledge of her killer to come forward at last. Her killer has never been apprehended.
The police have issued a renewed plea with the goal of locating the unique camera she was carrying the day she vanished and any unfound clothing. The young mother, who was originally from the US and was living in Bedminster’s Windmill Hill neighbourhood when she was killed, was repeatedly stabbed. Although there was no proof of a sexual assault, the police at the time thought the attack was motivated by lust.
Bristol was startled by the case in the mid-1980s, but her killer eluded detection even after a thorough investigation.
While attending Bristol Art Polytechnic, Shelley was scheduled to visit Leigh on the day she vanished.
Woods following a commission to create art in that region. She planned to take the bus from her South Bristol house to the school where she dropped off her two kids. She may or may not have made it to Leigh Woods, but she vanished from sight that afternoon when she went to pick up her kids from school.

On Sunday, June 9, at around 530 p.m., officers were dispatched to the A370 Brunel Way in response to a report of a collision involving an automobile and a pedestrian. After being taken to the hospital, the pedestrian passed away from her wounds.
Her next of kin have been notified, and a family liaison officer with specialised training is providing support. A woman in her 60s has been taken into custody by Avon and Somerset Police on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was freed while an inquiry was ongoing and pending more questions.
Around nine o’clock at night, Brunel Way reopened to vehicles heading into Bristol. Officers conducting the investigation are now requesting details about the collision.

After a male in Bristol attacked a female cyclist, an investigation was started. The 20-year-old woman apparently asked him to give her room on Shaldon Road, and he followed her before getting out of his car and attacking her.
According to Avon and Somerset Police, he screamed profanities at her and kicked her bike. After the man left in a black Land Rover Discovery, three more women assisted the biker.
The man is described as white, standing six feet tall, with a goatee beard that is starting to grey, and he is perhaps in his late 50s or early 60s. He had on a T-shirt and pants.
At approximately 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, the incident occurred. If you have any information regarding the assault, please contact the police

In a fight outside a Bishopston bar, a man took a hit and shattered his ankle. Following the alleged attack on Friday, April 26, Avon and Somerset Police investigating officers have made available CCTV photographs of two men they would like to identify.
According to the police, incident happened at about nine o’clock at night outside the Bishops Tavern on Cheltenham Road. After undergoing surgery, the patient is back at home.
There were reports that some of the people fighting were dressed for a round of golf. Many other persons in the vicinity also recorded what transpired on camera.
“A number of people in the area witnessed the incident and some of them are believed to have filmed it,” Avon and Somerset Police stated. Investigators are eager to have a conversation with these folks as part of their inquiries.

Teenager left with broken nose after attack and robbery in South Bristol
A teenage boy was left with a broken nose after an assault and robbery in South Bristol. Detectives investigating the incident have released an image of a young woman they believe has relevant information which could aid their enquiries.
Police say that two young men, possibly teenagers, are reported to have robbed and assaulted two teenage boys in Filwood Park on November 18, 2023. One of the victims suffered a broken nose in the incident.
Two other youths, a girl and boy, were also said to be with the offenders at the time of the robbery, but were not involved in it. Avon and Somerset Police has released an image of a girl officers believe may have more information about the incident.
Officers believe the individual in the image we’re releasing might have information about the incident and are asking for the public’s help to identify her.

Manhunt after boy injured in Lockleaze knife attack
Police in Bristol are appealing for witnesses after a suspected knife attack left a teenage boy needing stitches. Officers were called to Gainsborough Square, in Lockleaze, at around 4pm on Satuday, June 8 following reports of an altercation involving a group of young people, one of whom had a bladed article.
A teenage boy presented at the hospital with a cut to his arm, for which he required stitches. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Avon and Somerset Police has described a suspect as described as black, of slim build, and in his teens. He was seen wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up, black trousers and black trainers.
A spokesman for the force said: “Detectives are especially keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or have footage of it. If you can help, please call us.”
