Burnley and Sheffield United are two of the teams that have made offers for the midfield player, who spent the previous season on loan at Middlesbrough, according to Pete O’Rourke.

Previously, O’Brien was a standout player for Huddersfield Town. Under Carlos Corberan, he flourished at the John Smith’s Stadium and was a key player in leading the Terriers to the 2021 Championship Playoff Final.

Sadly, they were unable to defeat Nottingham Forest at Wembley, and the latter dealt Huddersfield a double blow by adding O’Brien and Harry Toffolo, two important players.

Despite spending a significant portion of his time with the club on loan, O’Brien hasn’t had the best time at the City Ground.

After being under former England star Wayne Rooney’s tutelage while on loan at DC United, he temporarily moved to Boro in the summer and played his whole season at the Riverside.

His time on Teesside was plagued by injuries, but this summer may offer him a chance to start over and have a successful 2024–25 season.
However, since the player only signed a long-term contract in 2022, Forest might be able to demand a sizable sum for the player, which would compel other teams to look for other options or pursue a loan arrangement for him.

Offers are being made to him, indicating that there is currently a lot of interest in him.

In order to increase his team’s chances of promotion, Scott Parker is looking to build on his successful start at Turf Moor and will want to have as much depth as possible at his disposal.

He might be a useful midfield acquisition, especially with Jack Cork’s contract expiring this summer. However, he could also play at left-back, where the Clarets also need options.

According to O’Rourke, the Forest player has had loan offers from the Clarets and the Blades.
