This weekend, Vincent Kompany is hoping that the Premier League’s relegation battle at the bottom takes another turn for the better.

After winning last week against Sheffield United, the Clarets are currently only three points outside of safety, while Nottingham Forest and Luton Town also lost.

The survival situation has been more apparent in the last week or two as a result of Sean Dyche’s Everton pulling away from the bottom three with consecutive victories.

Consequently, it appears that two of the three teams will be relegated to the Championship, along with Sheffield United, whose manager Chris Wilder has already said they are “gone.”
With just four games left in the season, Forest is more than capable of catching up to Burnley and Luton, who are currently still in the bottom three.

In response to a question on how Burnley might survive till today’s match against Manchester United, Kompany stated, “It’s game by game at this moment in time.”

“Just give us one chance to fight for anything, like I’ve said from the beginning. We just require that, which is why we devote so much of our energy to striving for excellence every day.

“Saturday feels that way, so that’s enough for us—it’s just one game that offers us an opportunity.”

Additionally, Kompany asserts that he only ever considers Burnley’s upcoming match and would rather ignore the bigger picture of relegation.
“To be honest, I don’t really analyse the situation at the bottom,” he continued. I evaluate what has to be done for the upcoming match.

“I don’t really care if it’s one, two, or three teams; I know we still have a chance. At this point, that’s all that matters to me.”

“It is understandable that there may be a shift every weekend, and I hope that things continue to go in our favour.”
