Trey Mooney, a youthful second-row player, has been re-signed by the Canberra Raiders till the conclusion of the 2027 NRL season.
Playing in all seven games since his comeback in round six, Mooney has been a notable performance for the Raiders this NRL season. Despite his youthful age, he has grown into an influential player for the team.
I’m glad to stay longer here. I want to continue to be a part of this family club, Mooney declared to Raiders Media.
Here, I’ve trailed a number of excellent forwards for a while. I’m just glad to be playing regular football right now, maybe I’m making my mark gradually and still vying for a spot.”
His growth in the NRL has advanced during this year’s season, and he has been able tolearn from the experienced forwards in the club, Josh Papali’i and Joseph Tapine.
Being able to pick their minds and learn from Papa (Papalii) and Taps (Tapine) has been amazing for my growth as a player here. They are two amazing middle forwards.
Joel Carbone, the Raiders NRL Recruitment Manager, said that Mooney is another player the team has fostered and given a chance.
Trey has had the opportunity to advance his career through our pathway system, according to Carbone.
“The Coaches have been instrumental in helping him make the transition from a pathway player to an NRL player, providing him with the necessary time and resources to fully utilise his talent.”
Trey Mooney has participated in 12 NRL games and has 2022 marked his Raiders debut.
