Biker airlifted to hospital after serious CARLISLE crash

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a serious collision in north Cumbria.

The incident, which also involved a campervan, happened at around 2.30pm yesterday, Friday July 26, on the A7 between Sandysike and Longtown.

The road was closed while police carried out an investigation.

The motorbike rider, a man in his 70s, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by the Great North Air Ambulance Service with serious injuries.

The driver of the camper van was uninjured.
