This week, there will be two adjacent road closures on the National Highways network that drivers in CARLISLE should be aware of.

However, there is some comfort for drivers as it is anticipated that neither of them would create more than a 10-minute wait.

One closure that is already in place is anticipated to continue this week, according to the most recent expected works list, which includes notes from National Highways:

• M6, with minor (less than ten-minute) delays from 8 p.m. on January 13 to 6 a.m. on July 21: M6 heading north and south, junction 43 to 44, VRS will be replaced with tight lane two and lane three closures.

And during the following two weeks, the following shutdown will start:

• A69: mildly delayed (less than 10 minutes) eastbound traffic signals from Greenholme to Low Moor, close to Hayton, from 7 p.m. on July 1 to 6 a.m. on July 3. This is due to SU construction.

Major A-roads and motorways are under the jurisdiction of National Highways; therefore, closures of lesser roads will not be incorporated into their schedule.
