A man in his 60s died after being found lying unresponsive in a city-centre alleyway.
According to police, they were notified at 1:59 a.m. on March 29 about an unconscious male who was found in an alleyway near Botchergate.
The Cumbria House and the Polish store Nasza Biedronka were separated by the alleyway.
He was brought to Cumberland Infirmary for treatment after officers tried CPR on him.
Later the afternoon, he was declared deceased.
According to the police, there aren’t any suspicious conditions right now.

Police are appealing for sightings of a missing man who may be in the Carlisle area.
David Garven, 52, is missing from Inverness in Scotland.
He was last seen on June 14.
It is believed he may be in the west of Carlisle or the Dalston area.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: “If anyone sees David or knows where he might be they are asked to contact police on 999.
“If David sees this appeal himself he is asked to contact police on the same number.”
