Luke Hooley, a playmaker for Castleford Tigers, moved to Featherstone Rovers on a two-week loan, but Craig Lingard is adamant that Hooley will remain at The Jungle.

Tex Hoy is currently enjoying life as Castleford’s number one. Hooley started the season as the Tigers’ fullback, but he suffered a dislocated shoulder in the Challenge Cup victory against Batley Bulldogs and hasn’t played since.

But Lingard believes Hooley has a long-term future with the Tigers, and he maintains that the move is simply about getting him more playing time.

Luke is here for the upcoming year. With his shoulder injury, he has missed the last five weeks of action. Tex Hoy was called in, and he performed admirably against London, according to Lingard.

Featherstone’s schedule of one game, one week off, and then another week off works out very nicely for us because it means he might miss just a few games for us.

Luke was eager to go out and get game time because he knew he wasn’t receiving any. He needs game time.

Luke will be here with us next year, as we have him scheduled to be here. Luke is someone we anticipate working with at Castleford and that has to work for both parties.
