Since switching from the Leeds Rhinos to the Castleford Tigers in 2023, Jack Broadbent has been an important member of the team. This season, the adaptable back has been a fixture in the Castleford lineup, covering any position in the bank line.
That’s why many Tigers fans were taken aback when they learned that Broadbent was leaving. Prior to a permanent move in 2025, he has signed a season-long loan with Hull KR, a Super League rival.
Broadbent’s switch has now been explained by Castleford’s Director of Rugby Operations, Danny Wilson.
Wilson wished Broadbent well in the future in a statement posted on the Tigers website. He added that the Tigers had desired to hold onto him.
“We hope the best for Jack’s future. He has been a fantastic addition to our team in recent years. He entered the Super League to establish his mettle.
He’s made a name for himself on the Cas team and has experienced some thrilling times. He sees his future somewhere else, even though we would have loved to have kept him. We comprehend fully.
Wilson claimed that Broadbent was looking for a fresh professional challenge. He gets this chance because of the relocation to Craven Park.

Swap deal works for Castleford Tigers and Hull KR
Following the announcement of the deal, Jack Broadbent spoke with the Hull KR website. He expressed his goals for the transfer, saying he wanted to establish himself as a mainstay in the first team.
“My goal is to join the team, and I’m hoping that I can work hard to do so. The team is growing; they advanced to the finals the previous year and are once again in the semi-finals this year.
“I’m really excited to be a part of Hull KR’s success as a club that is pushing for trophies and the top four,” the player said.
Broadbent wants to play a significant role in the new Hull KR defence. They’ll rearrange their lineup for the upcoming season in light of Ryan Hall’s departure.
Two Robins players move in the other direction as part of the agreement to take Broadbent to Hull KR. Young Corey Hall, a versatile player who can play centre or wing, signs a contract with Castleford through the end of 2024.
