In an attempt to start their summer business, Celtic is rumoured to be keeping an eye on one of Sweden’s top talents in anticipation of a possible signing to bring in a new player for Brendan Rodgers’ team.

The winners of the Scottish Premiership maintained their domestic supremacy last season, defeating Rangers in a thrilling final to retain their title for a record-breaking third year.

In an attempt to win a fourth championship in a row, Celtic may now look to the transfer market to recruit more players before the preseason begins. Even though the Bhoys haven’t started their summer recruiting yet, a number of new players, like Adam Idah and Edmund Baidoo, have been connected to the team in the headlines.

The Norwich City attacker made interest in a permanent move this summer after spending the previous season on loan at Celtic Park, where he found his most clinical form in front of goal. Idah would surely be a great way to start Celtic’s summer transfer window after he was instrumental in the team’s championship and Scottish Cup victory, before they focus on a possible future star.

Pontus Dahbo, an 18-year-old from Hacken, is reportedly being watched by Celtic ahead of a possible summer transfer deal, according to Swedish publication FD. Regarded as one of Sweden’s top prospects, the attacking midfield player is reportedly only worth £3 million, and he may soon be arriving in Scotland. If the Bhoys could secure a player with such potential, it would be a testament to their planning.

“Strong” Dahbo is one for the future

Dahbo, who is only eighteen, made a lot of impressions in Sweden the previous season, playing in 23 games, scoring twice, and providing assistance to Hacken once. The youthful attacking midfielder, who has just begun playing for the first team, has the opportunity to make his greatest transfer to date and give Celtic a player who will only develop better. According to Antonio Mango, Dahbo is “creative” and looks like he’s just getting started.

Given that Matt O’Riley’s Celtic future has been called into question recently, Rodgers’ team may finally use that signature move to replace the Dane. The midfielder, who had a fantastic season in Scotland the previous campaign and attracted interest from clubs like West Ham United, is still a Celtic player.

In the event that O’Riley leaves, putting up players like Dahbo will be essential to replacing what is likely to be Celtics’ finest player going forward.
