Ahead of the Bhoys’ Scottish Premiership match against Dundee this weekend, Daizen Maeda has not been observed at Celtic training.

Maeda’s hamstring injury has caused him to miss the remainder of the season, but reports have indicated that he is nearing a return.

According to reports, the Japanese attacker has recovered well from his hamstring injury and may return shortly to increase Brendan Rodgers’ options.

However, Maeda believes the weekend match will come too soon, and the attacker was not present at Celtic’s practice today.

Maeda has a hamstring problem, so Celtic will probably take their time getting him back; they want him well for the end of the campaign.

This weekend, Rodgers’ team will play Dundee at Dens Park, and it is unlikely that he will feel the need to bring Maeda back in time for the match.

To get Maeda back, Celtic may have to play more games against Hearts and then championship rivals Rangers.
Maeda has made 32 appearances for Celtic this season in all competitions, contributing nine goals along the way.
