A £15,000-a-week Celtic player is now reportedly on the verge of sealing a summer move away from the club, with a medical booked in at another team.

Celtic transfer news

In an effort to maintain their supremacy in the Scottish Premiership and make progress in the Champions League, the Hoops are still connected to a number of intriguing transactions this summer.

Tanner Tessmann, a midfielder for Venezia and the USA, has been mentioned as a possible addition to Celtic during the summer transfer window. The Scottish powerhouses are vying for his services. He has received high appreciation from Reto Ziegler, who stated: “I really like Tanner in the midfield.” I believe he has a pretty high technique considering his size. His tactics are really shrewd. He is one of my favourite players in the game, and I see him having a successful career at a high level the midfield, he’s very good. I’m proud to have talented players like him.”

Additionally, Michel-Ange Balikwisha has the support of Royal Antwerp forward Brendan Rodgers, who is directly in contact with him to finalise a summer transfer to the Hornets. He is still a young player, at 23 years old, and may be a long-term addition to the team.

On the other hand, Matt O’Riley is one of the important players that Celtic will be fighting to hang onto before the new season begins. Liverpool is rumoured to be “well-informed” about the Dane, who has been linked to a number of teams in recent months.

£15,000-a-week player set for Celtic exit

After reaching a deal, Celtic goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist will have a physical at Rapid Bucharest on Monday, concluding his stay at Parkhead, according to a recent report from Football Insider.

According to the update, the ‘keeper and Rapid have achieved a “full agreement to join the Neil Lennon-managed club,” and once Celtic accepted an offer, the ‘keeper’s permanent departure from Parkhead became official.

Since Siegrist hasn’t played in a league since joining from Dundee United in the summer of 2022, it really makes sense to let him take on a fresh challenge. The fact that he has only received two appearances in all competitions over the last two seasons demonstrates how little playing time he has had.

After Kasper Schmeichel took Joe Hart’s place in the goalkeeping pecking order, the 32-year-old’s standing behind the English veteran is unlikely to improve.

In the current game, many backup goalkeepers are willing to play squad duties, but the £15,000-per-week Swiss will undoubtedly be open to playing frequently elsewhere, and this move should provide him the chance to do so.

Not only that, but Celtic will also clearly benefit from the sale, getting his wage off the books, so it is a piece of business that makes complete sense for everyone concerned.
