Celtic are close to completing a deal for Aston Villa goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo.

According to a report from the Scottish Sun, the Hoops have been tracking the 22-year-old goalkeeper for some time now, and he is now “poised” to move to Parkhead.

Celtic lost Joe Hart who announced his retirement at the end of last season. Benji Siegrist is also likely to depart Celtic Park.

The newspaper reported on their online version that the two clubs are discussing a fee for Sinisalo.

If the deal goes through, which is highly likely, the three-times-capped Finnish goalkeeper will probably become the second goalkeeper to arrive at the club this summer.

Sinisalo spent the last season on loan at Exeter City and previously played for Ayr United. He will come with a growing reputation, and this looks like a cracking piece of business from the Bhoys.

The transfer window has been nicely shaping for Celtic who are in the market to sign an attacker.

Celtic are showing keen interest in Royal Antwerp forward Michel-Ange Balikwisha and they have held talks with the player’s agents over a potential move.

Meanwhile, the Bhoys will have a tough fight to keep hold of midfielder Matt O’Riley. Serie A club Atalanta made an effort to sign the highly-rated Danish midfield maestro, and now Juventus have joined the race.

Leicester and Southampton have also been credited with an interest in O’Riley, but Celtic are expected to demand a massive transfer fee for him. Brendan Rodgers does not want to lose him in the summer window (just like in the January window), and any interested party will have to pay a huge fee to sign him.
