The stories about Celtic’s interest in Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski are absolutely unabated, and I predict that they will continue as transfer rumours in general pick up steam.

With 26 goals in 53 appearances, Miovski was among the most lethal strikers in the Scottish Premiership last season.
This is especially amazing in light of the fact that The Dons spent a large portion of the season barely above the relegation zone before finishing in seventh place following the top-six split. Additionally, Aberdeen CEO Alan Burrows has acknowledged whether or not the Parkhead club has made a proposal for the 25-year-old after Celtic heard this week how much it could cost to get the Macedonia international.

Linked to Celtic in December, there has been constant talk about Burrows moving to Paradise, and Burrows himself acknowledges that Aberdeen may lose their best player if the right offer comes up.

Burrows stated, “There have been no offers,” to Sky Sports Scotland. Perhaps as a result of the Euros, the top-tier transfer market has been a touch slow.

“Player Bojan has been outstanding for his squad and Aberdeen Football Club. He has played in two outstanding seasons and will eventually be in one of the top five leagues. I have no question about that.

“In my view—and perhaps this is biased—he’s the finest scorer in the Scottish Premiership, pound for pound.

In addition to wanting to keep him around, we also use a player trading concept here. We are aware that if someone performs so well for a long enough duration, other clubs will be interested in them due to the nature of the beast.

“But even though we operate on a player trading model, we understand that there will be people looking at him now, but it has to be right for Aberdeen Football Club,” the player said in a message to Aberdeen supporters and the football community as a whole.
