Virginia’s Chesterfield County (WRIC) — A woman was found dead from stab wounds in her Chesterfield County home, and a 37-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder.
The Chesterfield County Police Department reports that on Sunday, June 30, at around 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 6400 block of Kings Crest Court in response to a disturbance call.
Upon arrival, the cops discovered 48-year-old Kelli S. Patel suffering from several stab wounds inside her residence. After being brought to a nearby hospital, the police claimed that her injuries caused her death.
Noell J. Brandon, 37, was there when officers came, according to the police, and he was taken into custody and accused of second-degree murder. A neighbour named Kareem Elias stated the murder is shocking, but he won’t allow the incident to scare him.
Elias predicted that “our awareness will definitely elevate.” “We’ll be more vigilant, but it wouldn’t necessarily be a fear or anxiety-related issue.”
Patel, who owned the house, rented a room to Brandon and a member of his family, according to the police. Elias expressed his wish that something similar won’t occur again.
Elias stated, “The most important thing would just be to pray about it.” “I believe that prayer would be the first to try to cast out any negative emotions like that if you’re feeling any kind of negative emotions.”
The homicide is still under investigation by Chesterfield Police, who invite anyone with information to call 804-748-1251.
