The Spireites have a small number of players out of contract including Jeff King, Bailey Clements, Ollie Banks and Harley Curtis.
Decisions on whether to offer those players new deals or release them will be announced in the near future.
Town have been proactive in offering new contracts to players throughout the season which means they will take the majority of the current squad into the Football League.
Many players signed extended contracts, tying them down for at least another year. These players include Ryan Boot, Ryheem Sheckleford, Tyrone Williams, Jamie Grimes, Branden Horton, Darren Oldaker, Mike Jones, Liam Mandeville, Ryan Colclough, Armando Dobra, and Joe Quigley.
Manager Paul Cook has previously discussed the value of consistency over the necessity of signing dozens of new players every year. Cook was eager to address the large number of recruits the club had made in a short period of time when he returned to Chesterfield two years ago.
The Blues have a list of players they would like to add when they rejoin the EFL, but quality is once again the priority.
In other news, Chesterfield’s under-23 team won the National Football Youth League title on Tuesday night at the SMH Group Stadium thanks to a dominant 6-0 victory over i2i International Gold U23s.
In addition to manager Paul’s son Connor Cook and Thomas Marshall, Alexander Duhameau and Ryley D’Sena each scored twice.
The young players will now focus on their upcoming National Football Youth League Cup Final at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday, when they take against the under-23 team of North Leigh FC.
