The 23-year-old, who scored 19 goals this season, has signed on a 12-month contract after leaving Northern Premier League side Macclesfield, who offered him a new deal.

The winger, who started his career at Liverpool, has been a star man for the Silkmen since joining them in November 2022 from Warrington Rylands

During his time at Warrington, Drummond won the FA Vase, the Northern Premier League West Division title, was named in the team of the season and bagged the league’s player of the season accolade.

Drummond will link-up with his former team-mate James Berry at the Blues, who he played with at Macclesfield.

He added, “I’m made up. It’s a big opportunity for me and my family,” after signing with the Spireites. It’s a chance that could change my life, and I’m eager to get going.

These are not often available opportunities. All of my beliefs are embodied in this club. All I want to do is keep going, step onto the pitch and bring (Paul Cook) honour.

“I am eager to take the pitch and demonstrate my abilities to the supporters.”

Being proactive with their transfers was a key component of Chesterfield’s success the previous season, and they haven’t spent any time in bringing on their first addition in advance of their League Two comeback.

Since Miguel Freckleton left the Blues in August of last year, Drummond is their only new hire.

Additionally, the Spireites are rumoured to be interested in Stockport County attacker Paddy Madden.
