With the Sharks this season, he has had a breakthrough campaign.

According to reports, a crucial part of the Cronulla Sharks’ forward group has committed to the team for the duration of current campaign.

With his breakout season in Sharks colours this year, Tom Hazelton has played a major role in the team’s ascent to the top of the NRL standings.

Despite being a late bloomer, his game has improved in the last two seasons when he was promoted to the NSW Cup Top 30 squad in 2023 and demonstrated consistency.

Hazleton, who is 198 centimetres and 116 kilogrammes in size, has been a part of Cronulla’s programme since the end of 2017 and has progressed through the ranks of the club.

The Cronulla Sharks exercised a club option to extend Hazelton’s contract through the end of the 2025 campaign, as News Corp. reported.

The newspaper adds that the club has talked about extending his contract indefinitely because, starting on November 1, he will be free to talk with other teams.

Although the New Zealand Warriors will trade Addin Fonua-Blake to the Sharks for the upcoming campaign, Dale Finucane’s abrupt retirement has relieved some of the wage cap burden.

They’ll probably now focus on getting Royce Hunt, the front-row player.

Although Hunt has been connected to both the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Canterbury Bulldogs, he has stated that he would prefer to finish his career with the Sharks.

Hunt stated to NRL.com, “Obviously, I want to play for the Sharks for the rest of my career, but at the end of the day, it’s a business and they have to do what’s right for them and I have to do what’s right for me and my family.”

“I wish I could stay here, but reality calls for what it is.

“I still have the remainder of this year left, and I’m signed for next year.

However, you’d have to be somewhat blind to not
