Sharks getting deal done for star player

Jada Taylor, a fullback for the Cronulla Sharks NRLW and one of the most promising young players in the league, has made a decision regarding her future.

The Cronulla Sharks NRLW representative, who is Indigenous and a former U19s NSW Sky Blues representative, has chosen to extend her contract through the end of the 2026 season, with an option for the following one.

Taylor, a Tamworth native, started all six games before an injury ended her season. In 2023, Taylor was the team’s main fullback, with Emma Tonegato moving into the halves.

Nevertheless, in her time on the pitch, she managed to cross for two tries and contributed five try assists.

“I’m thrilled to have my long-term future sorted,” Taylor declared upon his re-signing with the Sharks. “I love the Sharks.”

“Under Tony’s coaching, I learned a lot from the previous season, and I’m eager to continue growing both individually and as a team in 2024 and beyond.

“I truly want to repay the Sharks for giving me the chance to be a valuable member of the team, club and community by giving it my all on and off the pitch.

“The girls we have here are a really talented bunch and we all want to create a great culture and hopefully some future success for the club.”

Along with being a player for the Sharks, Taylor is also the club’s Indigenous Programmes Coordinator off the field. He is a potential star in the NRLW competition.

Taylor, who began her NRLW career with the Sydney Roosters, will be starting this season following surgery for a shoulder injury she suffered against the Brisbane Broncos.

NRLW head coach Tony Herman continued, “It was evident in Jada’s first full season that she is going to be an outstanding player for a long time.”
