crystal Palace put £60m price on both Olise and Eze

This season, only six Premier League games have been started by Michael Olise (left) and Eberechi Eze (right).

For the outstanding forwards Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, Crystal Palace will only consider bids that begin at £60 million or more for each player.

With a club-record 12th season of Premier League action under their belt, the Eagles are safe from relegation and do not have to sell any player.

However, they acknowledge that bids are quite likely to arrive this summer given the recent accolades, especially for the 25-year-old Eze, and the form of Olise, 22.

Additionally, Palace believes that the starting price for interested teams to commence negotiations is £60 million per player.

This season, Olise and Eze both inked long-term contracts, giving Palace significant negotiating leverage.

Since there is no clear-cut release provision in either contract, any agreement will involve percentages and be complicated because of the player’s previous club, Crystal Palace, and the players themselves.

Chelsea tried in vain to recruit Olise for a fee of almost £35 million, believing they had triggered his release clause, while Manchester City showed interest in Eze last summer but instead bought Matheus Nunes of Wolves.

The players are content at Palace and eager to ensure that any prospective transfer will help them, with an emphasis on selecting a team that will enable them to showcase their skill on the ball and their offensive flair.

Eze was “on a different planet” during Sunday’s 5-2 victory over West Ham, according to Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy. “He is a Champions League player—I’m sorry, Palace fans,” Murphy continued. Next season, he won’t be there. This talent is incredible.

“Because he is so versatile, a lot of clubs will be chasing him. An very amazing player.”

Although Olise and Eze have only started six Premier League games together, there is a discernible change in Crystal Palace’s style of play when they are not in the starting lineup.

Of the 14 goals in the six games, 13 have been scored or assisted by them.

Under sporting director Dougie Freedman, Palace signed two of the Championship’s top players: Olise and

Apart from Olise and Eze, they have also added Marc Guehi, who was on loan from Chelsea at Swansea, and Adam Wharton, who was most recently signed.

After moving from Blackburn for £18 million, Wharton has already made an impression on many people at Selhurst Park and has drawn interest from other Premier League teams.

Playing in the middle of midfield, Wharton’s passing has been excellent, and his vision has made it possible for Eze and Olise to get the ball in hazardous situations.
