Drivers are facing severe delays on the motorway

One person was left trapped in their car following a lorry incident, and an air ambulance has just landed close to the M25.

Today, August 20, just after 11 a.m., a collision occurred between junctions 29 and 30, which lead to the A282 and Lakeside Shopping Centre, and the A127 Southend Arterial Road.

All traffic was initially held while highways officers and emergency services attended, but one lane of the carriageway has now reopened.

Firefighters from the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the scene on the anticlockwise carriageway to offer assistance.

Following the collision, a person who was stuck in their automobile was safely freed with the assistance of fire departments from Greys, Brentwood, and Corringham.

After then, the patient was given over to the on-site paramedics. It’s unclear at this time if the victim suffered severe injuries.

There have also been reports of an oil spill in the area, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Drivers are advised to avoid the road as long delays remain, with the motorway currently facing five miles of severe traffic back to the Dartford Crossing.

The other side of theĀ  Dartford Tunnels is also delayed, with more than four miles of traffic back to the Swanley Interchange.
