Dajaune Brown of Derby County scored his second goal in as many games for Gateshead, but it was insufficient to prevent them from losing to Solihull Moors.
The National League team that is vying for a top-seven finish and a shot at promotion to the EFL is now housing the Rams forward on a youth loan.
Despite his impact from the bench, Brown has not started a single game since making the switch, but there is rising desire for him to be included in the starting lineup. He scored a late header against the Moors last night to make the score 3-2, but it did not inspire a late comeback by the Heed who had to settle for a narrow defeat.
But Brown’s goal followed a calm finish at Boreham Wood at the weekend when he ran clean through to slot past the goalkeeper in the 90th minute
Gateshead fans were singing for Brown to be brought on last night and one fan said on social media: “There’s a reason we were singing to bring him on, he must start.”
