Derry City FC and the other LOI clubs have come to an agreement regarding the distribution of away fan tickets for Brandywell.

While construction on the new North Stand continues, clubs and Derry City Football Club have reached a compromise to provide accommodations for away fans attending Friday night’s league match at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium against St Patrick’s Athletic.

Due to the closure of a portion of the Southend Park stand, Derry City was only able to provide 75 tickets for visiting Drogheda United supporters on the first night of the season. League of Ireland clubs are mandated to provide visiting clubs with a minimum of 10% of the stadium’s capacity.

The 400 seats in the Southend Park stand have been removed, and blocks A and B are now off-limits until further notice. As a result, there won’t be many tickets available for away fans until the new terrace opens, which should happen by the end of July.

There is a high demand for tickets for Friday’s matchup with the Richmond Park club because many supporters are anticipated to stay overnight to watch Dublin take on Derry in Saturday’s Allianz Football League match at Celtic Park.

However, Derry would have to deny season ticket holders seats if a 10% allotment for away fans were implemented, a move the team was not willing to negotiate.

As a result, Derry City and their guests will have access to a terraced area thanks to an agreement.

Both groups of supporters will be separated in the standing terrace area, with Derry fans expected to be positioned closest to the club store. Pulse Security Management will oversee their safety.

Due to limited terrace tickets, the entire Southend Park stand will be reserved for home fans, with up to 80 seats going up for general sale online.

The Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians, whose supporters travel in large numbers, are expected to use a similar system. Derry City has already contacted individual clubs like Waterford, Galway, and Dundalk to arrange the distribution of tickets for those forthcoming games.
