Four males are being sought by police after gunfire was heard in a Doncaster street during an attack on a property.
Yesterday afternoon, police were dispatched to Chalmers Drive in Clay Lane, and they were there all evening.

“We are appealing for information following a firearms discharge in Doncaster,” a spokesman for South Yorkshire Police stated.

Police were contacted at 5:22 p.m. on Monday, June 24, in response to reports of gunfire on Chalmers Drive.

Four males are said to have been spotted in a car on Chalmers Drive, which they all got out of.

“One individual hurled a glass bottle towards the property, another carried an unidentified weapon, and a third fired a shotgun. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.

“We think that this was a deliberate assault.

“A scene was set up while officers worked, however it has already been taken down, and officers are currently conducting several inquiries.

We are currently pleading with anyone who has information to contact us.

“Gun violence is one of the most serious issues we face as a force, and as such, our officers are determined to route out those responsible for firearms crime,” stated Detective Inspector Claire Moss.

“To make sure the locals feel protected, there are now more officers patrolling the neighbourhood. If you have any issues, you are welcome to speak with one of our officers.

“I urge anyone with knowledge that could assist us in apprehending the attackers from yesterday to come forward.”

The recent occurrence on the narrow home street is the most recent in a series of grave ones.

Police investigated a gunshot and three-car collision on Chalmers Drive in June 2021, following gunfire that occurred in the vicinity only hours apart. The drivers had engaged in combat.

A man who fired a gun on the street in February 2022 struck a man in the face and was subsequently taken into custody.

After an altercation, Daniel Nica, 45, was arrested for firing airgun pellets at his victim, injuring her lip, chest, and back many times. She needed hospital treatment, and Nica was eventually given a three-year prison sentence.

Following a Doncaster police raid in Chalmers Drive in December 2022, a 42-year-old lady and an adolescent were taken into custody on drug-related offences.

The two ladies, ages 18 and 42, were taken into custody on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with the intention of supplying them.

Scales, bags, and cash were found along with a quantity of Class A drugs. They took out a knuckle duster as well.
