Duke basketball now has eyes on the No. 1 prospect in the 2027 recruiting arena.
On Monday, MADE Hoops’ Colby Giacubeno reported, recruiters from Duke basketball and their Kentucky counterparts visited Blake High School (Md.) to observe five-star sophomore Baba Oladotun. The 6-foot-9, 180-pound forward is ranked No. 1 on the 2027 ESPN 25 because of his ready-made size and developing game, which are sure to attract blueblood interest.
Following up with an offer, Oladotun became the Wildcats’ primary target in the cycle according to head coach Mark Pope of Kentucky. Head coach Jon Scheyer of Duke has not yet reportedly followed suit, as the Blue Devils have not yet entered the competition for any recruits in 2027.

But as Scheyer and his crew step up their 2027 efforts, Baba Oladotun—the son of an Ibraheem Oladotun reserve centre from the early 1990s at Virginia Tech—is definitely a player worth watching.

This is a brief excerpt from On3’s scouting report regarding the versatile wing:

A few 2027 prep players have piqued the curiosity of the Duke basketball coaches. Jordan Page, a five-star forward from nearby Broughton High School in Raleigh who ranks eighth among his peers according to ESPN, is one of these possible targets.
