The Dark Blues have faced a stinging backlash after suffering five postponements this season

Tony Docherty has reminded Rangers that the chaos at Dens Park also derailed Dundee’s plans.

On Sunday, Ross County defeated the Ibrox team for the first time ever, 3-2, devastating the Gers in the process. The title-chasers’ plans appeared to be in chaos following the second postponement of their midweek match in Tayside, as Philippe Clement stated both before and after the game.

And although Dundee’s pitch has seen FIVE call-offs this season, they have received harsh criticism for it. However, Docherty was keen to point out that his team has also been impacted by the issues with their surface. Dundee did their talking on the field at Pittodrie on Saturday by guaranteeing their spot in the top six with a game remaining, despite being in the centre of the storm.
Following the confirmation today that Dens Park has successfully completed a pitch inspection in advance of tomorrow’s game, the manager of the Dark Blues said to Sky Sports: “I’m just excited for the game to start.” Even though this is the third try, we’re excited about it now. To be clear, there has been disruption—there was disruption last week, of course.

“The disturbance affects me just as much as it does them. Our players, in my opinion, truly shown that they were focused on maintaining our composure before the Aberdeen match. We applied the term “laser focused,” which I mentioned last week. We made it into the top six at Pittodrie thanks to a clean sheet. That truly makes me happy, and we are now anticipating Wednesday’s game.”

Docherty responded, “Very much, we had huge disruption in terms of preparation and organisation,” when asked how difficult a time it has been. All you have to do is double check. As a football manager, I believe it is my responsibility to ensure that the team is focused, and we succeeded in doing so.

“We played a fantastic game on Saturday, travelling to Pittodrie, and we succeeded in reaching our goal of finishing in the top six. I believe the guys deserve a tonne of credit for it. The game on Wednesday and the next five games are exciting for us.”
