Man in court charged with murder of woman and bid to kill two others

Daniel Parker appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged with the murder of Margaret Parker.

A man who is accused of killing one woman and attempting to kill two more in Edinburgh has shown up in court.

Daniel Parker made an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday in relation to Margaret Parker’s May 21 death at a Fernieside Crescent home.

The Edinburgh native, 36, was placed under arrest and remanded after entering no plea.

In addition, he is expected back in court in eight days on two counts of attempted murder.

Margaret Parker, 78, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on Tuesday morning.

A 55-year-old woman and a 42-year-old woman were also injured but didn’t require medical treatment.
