Here are the England player ratings after their 16–15 loss to the All Blacks in the international match on Saturday at the Forsyth Barr Stadium.
15 George Furbank: Has shown in the past several international matches that he is a Test-match calibre player. Although we’re not sure if Furbank had it in him, he performed admirably on Saturday. Well done on the counterattack and excellent defensive play. 8
14 Immanuel Feyi-Waboso: Continued his impressive start at international level. Didn’t get a whole lot of chances to run but Feyi-Waboso scored a try and was very good in defence in a system where the wings are crucial. 6
13 Henry Slade: Not great with his passing but Slade grew into the game defensively, despite a few missed tackles. He could still be much better though. 5
Superb defensive effort
12 Ollie Lawrence: Didn’t get his hands on the ball much but Lawrence was immense without the ball, winning two turnovers and making a staggering 22 tackles. 7
11 Tommy Freeman: In contrast to Feyi-Waboso, Freeman had his issues without the ball. Some decent carries but there are improvements to be made. 5
