On Friday, March 22, more than sixty people spent the night at Exeter City Football Club in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the local charity Julian House.

Julian House offers vulnerable and at-risk individuals in Exeter and the South West of England life-altering and life-saving help. Their services provide a path to better things for those who have been compelled to live on the periphery of society.

People slept on the chilly concrete floor with nothing more than cardboard, roll mats, and sleeping bags while the temperature plummeted and there were torrential downpours.
Teams from companies like Tesco and LiveWest, as well as students from schools all throughout Devon, generously donated to the event. In addition, the gracious Lord Mayor Cllr. Kevin Mitchell and his Consort paid a visit to the event to welcome attendees and express gratitude for accepting the challenge.

One night of camping does not come close to the realities of homelessness, stated Annabelle, the event organiser. But it does open up a dialogue on homelessness and allow people to sympathise with those who are compelled to sleep outside every night. Currently, sponsorship is great at about £7500, and we anticipate receiving significantly more.

We genuinely could not be able to deliver our vital life-saving services without occasions like these and the assistance of our supporters. We appreciate everyone who participated.

The Exeter City Community Trust, Medsafe EMS, Tesco Exe Vale, and Rapid Relief are especially appreciated by the event organisers for their yearly support.
