In a Plymouth parking lot close to a Poundland store, a man has been discovered dead. Yesterday morning, Tuesday, April 23, a significant police presence was observed at the Friary Retail Park, located off Exeter Street. This was in response to reports regarding a man’s welfare being questioned in a car.

At 8:25 a.m., police were called to the Exeter Street retail park. At the scene, a man in his 60s was declared deceased. His next of kin have been notified, and the death will be investigated.

There is no reason to suspect the man’s death. The coroner’s file is being prepared.

“Police were called to a retail park on Exeter Street, Plymouth, at around 8.25am on Tuesday, April 23, following a concern for the welfare of a man in a vehicle,” according to a statement from Devon and Cornwall Police.

“An ambulance was dispatched to the scene as well. The man, who appeared to be in his 60s, was declared dead at the scene, and his family has been notified. There is no reason to suspect his death. We’ll get the coroner’s file ready.

An eyewitness claimed to have seen police cars nearby. “What’s happened in the Friary car park near Poundland,” they declared. There were an ambulance, a black car, and four or five police cars.”
