Forest Green Rovers are a point from safety with seven fixtures left to play.

Along with Sutton United, they are in League Two’s drop zone.

Here are three players that they might lose if they are demoted to the National League.

Matty Stevens

With 11 goals in all competitions, nine of which have come in the league, he leads Forest Green in scoring this season. Despite his team’s troubles, the striker has been efficient up top this season.

The 26-year-old Stevens has been a member of his present team since moving from Peterborough United in 2019. But while he’s been at The New Lawn, he’s been loaned out to Walsall and Stevenage.

Kyle McAllister

The Scotsman has been a mainstay for the Gloucestershire team this season, and even though he has one more year on his contract, it wouldn’t be shocking if other teams showed interest in him this summer. This season, in 39 games, he has contributed five assists and six goals to the score.
McAllister has previously held positions with Derby County, St. Mirren, and Rangers. After Forest Green was promoted to League One in 2022, he joined the team.

Fankaty Dabo

In June, his contract expires, and he will be eligible to sign with any team. When the right-back signed in September, his contract was just for one year.

Dabo could have been playing in the Premier League right now had he not missed a penalty for Coventry City against Luton Town in the Championship play-off final at Wembley last year. If Steve Cotterill’s team is unable to prevent relegation, he is not likely to play in the fifth division.
