Steve Cotterill begins the 2024/25 campaign with 16 players under contract

The Forest Green Rovers have released 12 senior professionals along with their list of players who have been cut and those who have been retained. Brady Bunker, Charlie McCann, Tyrese Omotoye, Fiachra Pagel, Amadou Bakayoko, Kyle McAllister, Jamie Robson, Marcel Lavinier, Ryan Inniss, Christian Doidge, Alfie Bendle, Jordan Moore-Taylor, Jamie Searle, Emmanuel Osadebe, Jacob Maddox, and Teddy Jenks are among the players who will be under contract for the 2024–25 season. Dom Bernard, Darnell Johnson, Mathew Stevens, Jordon Garrick, Sean Robertson, Alex Gorrin, Fankaty Dabo, David Davis, Reece Brown, Richard Keogh, and Luke Daniels are among the players who have been released by the team.
After Rob Edwards joined the team, Stevens was a vital player as the Rovers won the 2021–2022 league title with 23 goals. Bernard, who had been with the team since the summer of 2019, had made just under 200 league appearances and had participated in 37 league games with 26 starts this season.

The 26-year-old had struggled for games this season with injury, but finished as the club’s top goal scorer with nine goals in 28 appearances.

Even though Forest Green has 16 players signed for the upcoming season, it wouldn’t be shocking to see a few go given the possibility of summer additions from other Football League teams. Additionally, the team has announced the release of youth players Jack Carter, Finley Bell, and Murphy Bennett.
