According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Fulham has expressed interest in Jan-Carlo Simic. The Cottagers will face heavy competition from another Premier League team for the 18-year-old defender. And the two English clubs have made inquiries about the AC Milan defensive star.
Jan-Carlo Simic is among the best young defenders in Serie A. The Nurtingen native was born in Germany and spent the majority of his formative years there before relocating to Italy in August 2022. The teenage prodigy joined Serie A heavyweights AC Milan and has progressed dramatically over the last four years.
The 18-year-old might have spent the most of his formative years in Germany. But he has selected Serbia as his national team, having played for the country’s under-19 squad since 2022. Meanwhile, Simic made his first-team debut for AC Milan in December 2023 and has played six games this season.
The youngster’s improvement at the Serie A club has not gone unnoticed, attracting the interest of numerous high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid. However, according to the most recent reports, the AC Milan defensive star has been connected with Fulham and Bournemouth, both mid-table Premier League clubs.
Fulham’s interest in Jan-Carlo Simic is understandable. The Cottagers are concerned about Tosin Adarabioyo’s long-term future, as the former Manchester City defender has attracted interest from major clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United. While Fulham signed Calvin Bassey last summer, they could use another center-back.
Several individuals, including Evan Ndicka, have appeared on Fulham’s radar. However, Simic is a plausible option, as the 18-year-old has the potential to be a long-term answer for the West London club. The Cottagers have already “conducted surveys” for the young possibility, as has Bournemouth.
It is unknown whether the 18-year-old Serbian youth international, who was born in Germany, is willing to leave AC Milan without first-team experience. Fulham may not be an appealing destination until it offers European football.
