The Cats backman is said to be in the sights of several rival sides, however his future is almost secured.
Henry, a native of Geelong, has recovered from a foot injury that severely hindered his 2023 campaign. He is currently playing in his second season with young brother and former Collingwood forward Ollie Henry, having played in all six games this year.
Despite being thought of as an unlikely Cat to leave the team given his connections to the area and his fraternity, The Age has learned that North Melbourne is one of the opposition teams that has made an effort to get Henry this season.
According to the publication, Henry would sign a new contract at the Cattery that would last at least four years. Geelong is currently awaiting word from Henry’s management.
Gettable was informed this week by Tom McConville, Henry’s representative, that both parties hope to conclude a deal soon.
McConville stated of his client, “Talks are ongoing there and it looks pretty positive.”
“Jack clearly adores Geelong, and according to their method, Geelong also thinks highly of Jack. Discussions are still going on, but things are heading in the right way.
