A 43-year-old guy died as a result of the event.
Police are asking for information following a fatal collision that occurred on the A76 just south of the B713 Catrine interchange.
The incident happened just hours after a 34-year-old man died in a fatal collision on the A76 between Kilmarnock and Mauchline at approximately 6:55 p.m.
Police were called to a single vehicle collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta Zetec that swerved off the road and struck a tree last night at around 10:15 p.m.
When rescue workers arrived, the car’s 43-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends during this difficult time,” said Sergeant Martin Cunningham of the Irvine Road Policing Unit.
While we continue our investigation to ascertain the full circumstances, we are asking anyone who witnessed the incident and was in the area to get in touch.
“If someone was driving in the area and has dashcam film, I would also urge them to contact us.
