Grimsby Town have bolstered their squad with the addition of Jordan Davies on loan from Wrexham until the end of the season.

The attacking midfielder has been a key figure at Wrexham since 2020. Davies, 25, is coming off a successful stint at Wrexham, where he made nearly 150 appearances.

He has played a pivotal role in Wrexham’s rise from the National League to League One, featuring in 60 games over the last two seasons. He impressed during Wrexham’s recent tour in America, netting three goals in four matches.

Grimsby Town’s Head Coach, David Artell, expressed his excitement about the new signing, highlighting Davies’ goal-scoring abilities.

“I’m happy that Jordan can now visit Grimsby Town. We think he’ll be a great addition for us since he’s a fantastic player,” Artell stated.

“We originally spoke to Phil (Parkinson) about Jordan towards the end of last season and he’s been someone we have targeted since then.”

With the words, “We’re really pleased we have been able to attract Jordan to the club and beat off a lot of competition,” Artell also acknowledged the competition for Davies’ signature.

Davies expressed his excitement at joining the Mariners and emphasised how keen he was to resume playing regularly.

“I feel very happy to be here. I’ve been in communication with the Gaffer for the last few weeks, so I’m happy to move it along.” Davies stated.

“I think the club’s a perfect fit for me to get back into the rhythm of playing games week in, week out and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
