One airlifted hospital after A684 car and motorbike crash in Harrogate

After a car and motorbike collided on the A684 in North Yorkshire, one person was airlifted to the hospital, while another was carried there by road ambulance.

Emergency services were called to the stretch of road between Aysgarth and Bainbridge at about 11.55pm on Sunday (July 28), following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

During the incident, the road was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to work at the scene, including clearing the motorbike and car involved and treating the patients.

Following the crash, the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) has confirmed that one person was airlifted to hospital, while another person was taken to hospital via road ambulance.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 11.56am on Sunday, July 28 to a road traffic collision on the A684 in Leyburn.

“The collision involved a car and a motorbike. Helimed and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

“One patient was conveyed by Helimed to James Cook University Hospital and another patient by ambulance to Darlington Memorial Hospital.”
