BEST AND FAIREST WINNER RECOVERING Will Day is expected to make a comeback for Hawthorn in Sunday’s match at the MCG against Sydney.

Due to a stress fracture in his foot that occurred at the beginning of January, the 22-year-old has missed the first six games of the season.

Two-time Australian In addition, Chad Wingard, who tore his Achilles tendon in August of last year, will be playing his first game.

At Fenjiu Stadium, the veteran is slated to play half of Box Hill’s VFL match against Sydney’s reserves.

Before being cleared to return at the AFL level, Wingard will gradually increase his load at the VFL level.

Mitch Lewis, the star forward, will be put to the test on Wednesday at training, but his recovery from a knee injury is still uncertain.

The 25-year-old’s hamstring injury and subsequent knee joint soreness have prevented him from playing since the Easter Monday loss to Geelong, and their recovery has been slower than anticipated.

Prior to his anticipated VFL return, Changkuoth Jiath suffered a minor quad strain during training last week, which could keep him out of the game for up to three weeks.
