Journalist Barry Anderson claims that Hearts are very close to making a double approach for Malachi Boateng of Crystal Palace and Andres Salazar of Atletico Nacional, but the Palace player’s deal is “closer” to being finalised.
Steven Naismith’s team is working hard to bolster their present lineup after placing third in the Scottish Premiership and earning a spot in the Europa League’s preliminary round.
There seems to be a close race between the two players to go to Tynecastle, but one is certain to finish first.
Boateng will travel from England, where he plays for Crystal Palace, to Colombia, while Salazar is scheduled to arrive from as far away as Colombia.
In contrast to the Salazer move, the Boateng deal is “closer” to being finalised.
In order for Salazar to play in Scotland, Hearts must also get him a visa, which will take some time.
Boateng has experience playing Scottish football, having represented Queen’s Park and Dundee in his career.
He featured in 36 games for Dundee last season, 27 of which were before the top-six split and five after that.
