The Jambos have now signed six players and the manager has been discussing two in particular

Hearts’ attack will be revolutionised by Blair Spittal and Yan Dhanda, as Steven Naismith outlined his plans for the two. Dhanda signed a pre-contract earlier this year, making him the Jambos’ sixth summer addition. Spittal, James Penrice, and Ryan Fulton also joined, as did right-back Daniel Oyegoke from Brentford B and Musa Drammeh from Sevilla’s reserve side. Gerald Taylor, a Costa Rican, is expected to follow. Naismith has now spoken on the attacking midfield duo in particular, with the two set to solve the club’s biggest issue from the previous campaign. The Tynecastle men were comfortable in third but in certain games looked to lack creativity and relied on Lawrence Shankland’s ability to conjure up a goal from nowhere.

Both Spittal and Dhanda are capable of playing wherever in midfield, whether it is deeper, farther forward, or wide. Their primary strengths lie in their ability to pass the ball well and see the goal.

“The two of them are similar in that probably one of their biggest strengths is their flexibility,” the head coach stated to the Edinburgh News. Blair can play a little bit deeper if necessary because he is a little older. Because of their intelligence, they can both play in a flat midfield three, off the top of a striker, or in any of the broader areas. Their adaptability is the greatest asset they offer.

“They are distinct individuals, and I believe they set themselves apart from the rest of our offensive players. They are clearly trying to convey to you that they are smart football players. They can distinguish between passes and runs, and they can tell whether to keep playing and when the game should be played more quickly.
