To improve their attacking ranks, Huddersfield Town is set to sign the striker on a free transfer. Along with Rotherham United and Birmingham City, they were demoted from the Championship following the previous season.

Ladapo, 31, was on loan at League One Charlton Athletic for the second part of the previous season. He joined the Addicks during the January transfer window and scored one goal for the London team in his 14 games played.

By mutual accord, he severed his connection with Ipswich Town late last month, and as a free agent, he has been considering his alternatives in the league. According to Football Insider’s most recent report on the matter, he is expected to sign with the Terriers and will go through a medical evaluation with the Yorkshire team.

If Ladapo and Huddersfield Town can work out a contract, he would be a very attractive addition.

He will add some experience to their ranks and strengthen their choices at the top of the pitch.

When he was younger, the Londoner played for Colchester United, but he was forced to move into non-league football until Crystal Palace enticed him back up the football ladder.

He went on to make two appearances for the Eagles first team before being sent on loan to Shrewsbury Town and Oldham Athletic to gain some experience while he was at Selhurst Park.

After that, Ladapo played on a permanent basis for Plymouth Argyle and Southend United until being signed by Rotherham United in 2019.

The attacker scored 41 goals in 123 games across all competitions when he was a star with the Millers, earning him a move to Ipswich Town.

After that, he continued to be effective in front of goal for the Tractor Boys, scoring 25 goals in 75 games.

Ladapo was sent to Charlton Athletic to obtain some playing time last winter after his game time dried up due to Ipswich Town’s promotion to the premier league.
When they went up at Portman Road, he fell lower in the pecking order.

At this point in his career, the player needs opportunities, thus joining Huddersfield Town would be perfect for him.
Although Ladapo struggled at Charlton Athletic earlier this season, Michael Duff will be aiming to get the best performance out of him at John Smith’s Stadium.

After suffering a 2-1 loss on the road at Rotherham United last time out, the Terriers return to play this weekend as they travel to Bolton Wanderers.
