Talks are ongoing with club captain Jonathan Hogg over a new deal

Eight players who have made appearances for the first team will leave Huddersfield Town at the end of their contracts, the club has confirmed.

After loan stints, Delano Burgzorg, Alex Matos, and Tom Edwards are returning to their parent clubs, while Jordan Rhodes, Yuta Nakayama, Brahima Diarra, Connor Mahoney, and Aaron Rowe have all been released.

With 97 goals scored, Rhodes is ranked sixth in the Terriers’ all-time goalscoring rankings. His decision to be released ends his second stint with the team.

The team announced that they are still in talks on a new contract with Jonathan Hogg’s representatives. In addition, “a number of contracted players have also been made available for transfer,” the Terriers disclosed in their retained list announcement.

Town also revealed that 19 players from the club’s under-19 and B teams will be leaving after receiving no offers for new contracts. The club’s retained list is broken down as follows.
