When Hull City travels to Elland Road to play Leeds United on Monday, Liam Delap will be absent. Delap scored seven goals for the Tigers in the first half of the Championship season, which helped Liam Rosenior’s team move closer to the play-off picture.

The Manchester City loanee, though, hasn’t been spotted in a Hull jersey since January due to a knee injury. The East Yorkshire team hasn’t won in four games and is currently three points behind the top six pace. He has been a huge loss for them, but as the Tigers try to put their record back together over the next nine games, there is hope that he will be able to return.

The England U21 international’s Easter Monday travel to Leeds appears to be a bit of a rush, as Rosenior has said the forward—who also skipped the team’s warm-weather camp in Turkey—won’t likely be fit until after their match at Elland Road.

Regarding Delap’s injury status, the Hull manager stated, “Every report I’m getting is that he’s doing better and better and he’s getting ahead of schedule.” “We’re looking at having him in, I would say, mid-April – a couple of weeks. I don’t want to put too much pressure on it.

We have decided that when he returns, he will be fully fit because of Manchester City’s facilities and what they can offer him.

He will undoubtedly be a very different player when he returns; he has been a huge loss for us. I believe that when he recovers, they will have him back to the point where he can resume full training.

Before travelling to Leeds, the Tigers will play Stoke City at the MKM Stadium on Good Friday. They will be hoping to play without any more significant injury issues.
