Liam Millar is still awaiting the results of a scan to determine the extent of an injury he sustained against Burnley, so Hull City will continue to worry about his fitness. Millar hobbled out of the Clarets game after just five minutes of his comeback to the Tigers lineup.
Abu Kamara, who was substituted by Millar for the Canadian international, is expected to return when City travels to Derby County on Saturday afternoon.
The team is still waiting for a prognosis on Millar’s knee, with manager Tim Walter saying on Thursday afternoon that he did not know how long the player could be out. “I don’t know anything about that, to be honest,” Walter said when asked about Millar’s health. “We have to wait for the situation and at the moment I can’t answer your question.
While Walter was unable to provide an update on Millar’s injury diagnosis, he did hint at a possible return for one neglected City player, Dogukan Sinik. Despite playing in City’s friendly win over his native Turkey nearly two weeks ago, Sinik was not on the bench for recent Championship games against Sunderland or Burnley, but he is expected to return soon for his first appearance for the Tigers in over a year following his loan move away last season and injury this summer.
“We don’t have to discuss Sinik all week. “You will see if the time is right,” Walter teased.
The Tigers return to Championship action on Saturday afternoon, when they travel to Pride Park to face Derby. It’s a contest between the 12th-placed hosts and Walter’s 15th-placed Tigers, who have only won one of their six Championship games combined.
Despite their recent winless record, City played well against Burnley on Wednesday evening and will seek to reproduce that performance to pick up three crucial points, with the line-up potentially unchanged except for Miller’s absence.
