Liam Rosenior verdict un satisfy draw with West Brom.

In a tight MKM Stadium battle on Saturday lunchtime, City gradually took control and took a 35th-minute lead when Fabio Carvalho rattled in from the edge of the box. However, that advantage was wiped out when Rosenior’s side failed to deal with a corner and Darnell Furlong glanced. That equaliser came just before the half-time interval and cancelled out the momentum City had gained from Carvalho’s thumping strike. Liam Rosenior believes Hull City’s battling point in their 1-1 draw with West Brom on Saturday will stand them in good stead for the remaining 12 games of the Championship season.

Both teams struck the post late in a close, even match with few obvious opportunities. Jaden Philogene struck the woodwork first, then Adam Reach scored the other goal after Regan Slater made a mistake. However, neither team was able to make a breakthrough, and after a demanding road week in which City claimed three victories out of three, including that remarkable outcome at Southampton, the spoils were split.

Not that I’m angry, Rosenior said to Hull Live. “I am aware that West Brom is an excellent team as well. I don’t consider it in terms of twelve games and ten points. My only goal in every game we play is to win. These games against other top-six competitors are very close, and I felt we played a tremendous game against a really well-organized and structured squad.

I believe that this is a new group for our collective learning process. We brought in seven new players in January, and it’s been a terrific experience for them to understand what it takes to focus during key situations. If we apply those lessons going forward, I believe we’ll be in a great position for the remainder of the season.

They must have known they would need to be well-drilled, so I got the impression that they arrived and worked extremely hard on their defensive shape. With the quickness of (Tom) Fellows and Mikey Johnson, along with (Grady) Diangana and (Jed) Wallace, they play without a striker—something that everyone is talking about right now. They all wanted to score in transition since they are speedy guys. We handled the threat rather well, in my opinion.

They played a good opening goal, in my opinion, but Fabio’s excellent goal gave us the lead, and during the time that separated our goal from their goal, we were in total control of the game. Football is about managing moments and momentum shifts, which is why it’s upsetting that we haven’t exactly done that today.
