Following the shocking decision to cut ways with Rosenior on Tuesday afternoon, Hull City is searching for a new manager.
Under the former Derby County coach, the Tigers had advanced from the lower division to the play-offs, but the Humberside team decided to fire him due to the team’s late top six loss.
The choice has been met with a great deal of criticism, but Hull City’s attention is now on finding a worthy replacement as they aim to get even better in 2024–2025.
Numerous people have already been connected, and Tim Walter, the German leader, was reportedly under suspicion this morning.
The 48-year-old is a manager that Hull is considering, according to The Telegraph. Since Hamburg, a team in the 2. Bundesliga, fired Walter in February of this year, he has been unemployed.
Before his firing in February, Walter had worked for Hamburg for just under three years. His managerial career has been entirely based in Germany.
He began his career at Karlsuhe as a young coach before joining the academy of German powerhouse Bayern Munich, where he finally became head coach of their reserve team. Walter was rewarded with a transfer to VfB Stuttgart after securing his first permanent position with Holsten Kiel.
Wagner has never held a managerial position outside of his home country, but his 2.Bundesliga background might prepare him well for a move to Championship football.
Hull City needs to make the right decisions moving forward after making the highly contentious decision to cut ways with Rosenior.
If the popular boss is replaced, the fans’ resentment of the club’s hierarchy will only increase. In addition, a robust summer transfer window will be necessary to support the incoming manager with in-house acquisitions.
The Tigers must be firmly targeting to finish in the top six at the very least next season, given that they fired Rosenior after missing out on the playoffs.
Under his direction, many would have supported them in doing so, but only time will tell if this contentious action ends up being beneficial.
