Under Paul Rowley, the Salford Red Devils have had another fantastic season, and as of this writing, they are more than capable of earning a Super League play-off spot at the conclusion of the campaign. They are currently tied for sixth place with St. Helens and the Catalan Dragons, and they will be optimistic about maintaining that form over the next ten weeks of the season.
With eight players nearing the end of their contracts, things at AJ Bell Stadium appear a little dicey over the off-season. This is a list of people that will be departing the club as of right now.
The hooker has been a key man for the Red Devils this season but his exit has already been confirmed. He’s penned a three-year deal with Hull FC and will be making the move to East Yorkshire over the off-season.
Cust is another player who may be moving to East Yorkshire, as rumour has it that Hull has made an agreement to sign the half-back. Cust left Wigan at the end of the 2023 campaign, and he has only played one season with Salford. He has made 11 appearances for the team, with four assists and one try.
Ben Farewell
Under Paul Rowley, Hellewell has had difficulty getting into the game, appearing in just four games off the bench due to injury. Therefore, it’s unclear if the Red Devils will want to hang onto the Scotland international once the current campaign ends.
Foster Matty
Three Super League appearances in his first season with the club indicate that the former St Helens young player has found it difficult to make an impression in Greater Manchester. Although Salford is adaptable, he has spent some time with the Swinton Lions this season and will be considering his options.
Adam Sidlow
By the time the next Super League season begins, the forward will be 37 years old, making him the oldest player in the league. It is unclear if he will play again.
Partington Oliver
Another player who has ensured his future elsewhere is Partington, who inked a two-year contract with the Catalans Dragons. Since leaving Wigan, he has shown promise, and under Steve McNamara, he is eager to get going and have an influence in the south of France.
Dixon Andrew
The 34-year-old has only made three appearances for the Red Devils this season, and like other players on this list, it’s unclear if he’ll play again once the season ends.
Kai Morgan
The youthful player, who came from Leeds Rhinos to Salford last winter, has only played once for the Red Devils. It’s unclear what the club has planned for him, but if he decides to go, the time he spent picking up knowledge from Marc Sneyd could be priceless.
