Hull FC’s recruitment isn’t ‘done yet’ with more additions to come.

Thanks to the “tireless” work of incoming head coach John Cartwright and director of rugby Richie Myler, Adam Pearson is optimistic that Hull FC will have a “competitive” team for the 2025 campaign.

Myler and Cartwright are in constant communication as they work to complete the recruitment, with a spine addition being the most important component. The team has already signed seven players as it moves through that procedure. Amir Bourouh and Cade Cust, two young hookers, will join the team in the upcoming season. John Asiata, Zak Hardaker, Oliver Holmes, Ed Chamberlain, and Jordan Abdull are among the players who have been strategically added for 2025.

However, Pearson maintains that the club has a few more acquisitions coming soon and that the recruitment process isn’t “done yet.” “Richie and John continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes in preparation for the 2025 season as our squad begins to take shape,” the club chairman stated.

We have recently announced some exciting additions for next season—experienced players who will help further develop some of our young stars. Our business for 2025 is not done yet, as we strive to build a very competitive squad.

“While that work goes on in the background, our focus very much remains on the rest of the 2024 campaign, and in the face of continued adversity on the injury front, we will battle to win as many games as possible.

“There is nothing we would love more than to give back to our very devoted followers and business associates who have supported us over some very trying moments this year. In sports, such dedication is unfathomable, and the club is grateful for their unwavering support.”

Despite all of the difficulties this season has brought, including a debilitating injury list and major roster changes, Pearson is still proud of one aspect of the team: young development. This season, Hull has played a number of young players with promise; in recent weeks, a number of these faces have been seen, providing some much-needed encouragement during these difficult times.

“I am very encouraged by what I have seen from our young players this year, and they have been a joy to watch,” Pearson stated. “Players with promising careers ahead of them, like Lewis Martin, Logan Moy, and Jack Charles, have all shown us what they can do when called upon and occasionally, their raw talent has been evident.

“I am really pleased of the youth department at the club, and Richie and John are eager to see it continue to grow. I can see that our system contains some incredibly gifted people. We shall do every effort on behalf of our newly appointed Head of Youth, Richard Tate to give those youngsters the necessary tools to make it to first-grade level.”
