Hull FC are hoping Cade Cust will join the club next week.

Hull FC is attempting to reach an agreement with Salford Red Devils in order to immediately sign Cade Cust, a 2025 prospect. According to reports earlier this month, the 25-year-old has already secured a move to the East Yorkshire team for the upcoming season, therefore Hull Live believes that the Black and Whites are eager to make the move happen.

Hull hopes to add a half-back or hooker for the remainder of the current season after losing half-back Ben Reynolds to Featherstone Rovers more than a week ago. Cust is the eighth player signed up for 2025. With club captain Danny Houghton sidelined for at least six weeks due to a calf injury, they are also stretched at hooker.

While the Australian played for Salford against the Huddersfield Giants on Friday night, it is anticipated that Cust would be released early because he provides Simon Grix’s team with depth at both spine positions. Salford has now confirmed that Jayden Nikorima signed a contract through the end of next year.

With nine Super League games remaining following their matchup with the Wigan Warriors on Saturday, the club is also looking into other options to bolster their roster before the August 2 deadline for transfers. This week, they have already added two new players to their roster as Ed Chamberlain, a 2025 prospect, signs a loan deal with the team.
It is anticipated that Chamberlain would play out the current Hull season before signing a three-year contract extension until 2025. He is accustomed to the halves and provides depth to the back row and centre positions.

On Thursday, King Vuniyayawa made his way from Salford to other locations. With Yusuf Aydin and Herman Ese’ese playing large minutes lately, it’s hoped he can get some rest. The Fijian prop also signed a contract to play on loan for the remainder of the season.
