Local reports indicate that the car park near Marine Drive was sealed off earlier this morning.
Officers have subsequently confirmed that they were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a person in distress soon after 8 a.m.
When emergency crews arrived, a 33-year-old male was declared dead on the spot.
His death is not being investigated as suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “We received a report of concern for an individual at South Beach Irvine around 8.05 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024.
“Emergency services responded, and a 33-year-old male was pronounced deceased on the spot.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
